WARNING: Some Have MySpace Profiles Without Knowing It!

Beware! Your private pictures might have been stolen and used without your permission by an online imposter on MySpace!

Well, the exact thing happened to an unfortunate girl named Katie from North Texas.

It only takes a few clicks for someone to steal a person's photos and this means that anyone who has an internet access can become your imposter.

Katie said that she never thought that such things will happen to an average and normal girl like her. But she was very wrong. She found out about the imposter when one of here friend calls here saying that she had found a stranger who has a MySpace profile which contains Katie's private and personal photos.

When the matter was reported to MySpace, they immediately shut down the bogus. MySpace officials admit that Katie's issue is not an isolated incident and recommends everyone making their profile private so only those who are allowed can access the profile.

Well, that's 1 case solved. Another 126 million to go…………………………….

Another Interesting MySpace Resource / Layouts Site

A few days ago, I posted about a MySpace Resource site that has a wonderful collection of layouts for MySpace.

Well today, I've found another site that offers tons of layouts! It's not like any other myspace resource site that uses the same old script and has all the same old collection. This particular myspace site is a BLOG and it is Powered by Wordpress!

Let me introduce to you, RadProfile.com RadProfile.com has been recently sold to another owner so the site may sometimes be down. However, you can still have a peek thanks to the wonders of Google Cache

It's not everyday you come across a MySpace Resource site that is totally different and more unique than others.

MSPLinks.com - Boon or Bane?

Some of you might know this already but for those who don't…MySpace launched msplinks.com a few months ago - an effort to track and curb spammy links.

MySpace reveals that the purpose of msplinks is to track and filter outgoing links as well as any embedded content in the comments sections. The owner of Msplinks.com is Mark Monitor which offers fraud prevention service.

Outgoing links are being converted to a very long url. Eg. www.msplinks.com/kjladksjklalkdjalksjdaksdjhjf$ to help in tracking. Msplinks links are being applied specifically to the comments section and this means that MySpace is serious in combating comment spamming which is a common problem. Only future links will be filtered by msplinks - backdated links will not be affected.

A big congrats to MySpace for making an effort to combat comment spam

In a nutshell, MSPLinks.com is a boon to the legitimate and honest myspace users and a bane to comment spammers.

McCain making the Teens Bored on MySpace and MTV?

Boring! First it was John Edwards, then Barak Obama and now it's McCain's turn? MySpace is suppose to be a fun site but now it's like they are trying to instill political values into teens. It's not bad but it'll just make us boring and ruin the fun. Teens don't care about politics and they definitely are not interested with the Presidential Dialogue series.

Maybe a new social networking site that is based solely for political gains should be created. PoliticSpace.com anyone???

MySpace Layouts Created by Professional Designers

To some MySpace'ers, having a cool layout is like having a cool girlfriend Well…maybe not

Anyways, I've recently cam across a site that offers highly customizable professional myspace templates / layouts. The layouts really look like a real normal flash web site and each one of the layouts were created by highly professional web designers and flash designers.

The site's name is LoveMyFlash / Flash Layouts. Not a very creative name but they certainly very creative in creating those beautiful templates.

Best MySpace Layouts That Don't Look Like Myspace at all!

This year, it seems like there is a trend that has been going on for some time among those who are not really enjoying the looks of the default MySpace layout.

On Mashable, there is a post that lists the top 18 best MySpace layouts. It's really weird when you see the layout for the first time…it'll get you thinking whether the page that you had just visited is a myspace profile or not. Those folks has really done a great job and went to great lengths to make their MySpace layouts standout from the rest (in a good way)

MySpace Launching a Facebook Style News Feed

According to Reuters, MySpace will be launching a news feed that is similar to Facebook in about 1 month plus from now. According to MySpace, they will be allowing other application developers to publish stories to the feed.

It seems that this recent move by MySpace is telling all of use that they are running out of ideas on how to attract more members.

In my opinion, MySpace should really focus on improving existing features before releasing a new feature.

MySpace hacker tells his story

Have you ever heard of Samy Kamkar? Well, he is the first person to do a large scale MySpace hacking. On January 2007, he confessed that he created what many people consider one the most sophisticated Web 2.0 worm. The worm is widely known as the "Samy Worm". Even thought the worm wasn't malicious it did cause a hell lot of trouble to MySpace. MySpace had to be shutdown in the late2005 after the Samy worm managed to swarm to over 1 millions users to declare Samy a "here" on each of their profile.

Till now, Samy is not allowed to touch a computer but if he play his card right…he may be allowed to visit MySpace again. This time I hope he doesn't do anything stupid :p
