Mother Pleads Not Guilty in MySpace Suicide Case

Most of you probably remember the Megan Meir case where a young teenage girl committed suicide after here relationship with a boy in MySpace went really bad. The 'boy' who allegedly is in love with her is actually fictional as the character was played out by a mother of a former friend that lives just across the street. The mother who created the 'prank' was brought to federal court and she pleaded not guilty.

MySpace Wins Another Anti-Spamming Verdict

Looks like MySpace is taking one some serious action against spammers. MySpace has just recently released an official statement that they have won a lawsuit against Scott Richter (founder of Media Breakaway). Media Breakaway has been sending spam attacks on MySpace and just last Friday, MySpace was awarded $6 million by the American Arbitration Association.

For any spammers thinking they can get away, they are wrong and they will be hunted down and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

MySpace is Making a Movie!

In a statement released Tuesday, Coelho said he elected to create his video in the spirit of collaborative, user-generated content because he's been a fan of the site for the last three years. Starting June 16th, MySpace will begin accepting submissions from amateur auteurs worldwide, who create a short film or song based on a character from Portobello.

The social networking site is teaming up with Brazilian bestselling author Paulo Coelho, best known for his spiritual story The Alchemist, to create his first feature film based on his latest tome, The Witch of Portobello.
