MySpace Domination in the U.S.

Around year 2012, experts are predicting that social networking will level off and the plateau will involve even sooner in the United States. And while waiting for it to happen, new active memberships in social sites are growing by the day.
It is expected that the number of memberships which includes multiple account by a single person will reach a massive 230 million at the end of this year. The money making opportunity here is definitely good and the marketing is growing.
Revenues from social networking sites like MySpace should reach 965 Million US Dollars and are expected to grow to a whopping 2.4 Billion US Dollars by the year 2012.
A report called 'The Future of Social Networking: understanding market strategic and technological developments' made by DataMonitor says that social sites are mostly consists members from the Asia Pacific, then Europe, Middle East and Africa. Surprisingly, North America is only on the third of the list
The US are domination MySpace only by a long shot. According to experts MySpace controls and dominates more that 50% of social memberships in the US then it is followed by Facebook, Google Youtube (and Orkut) and then Filckr respectively.
Keep in mind that the data is relating to the membership of these social sites and not the traffic. It's a surprise how low Facebook memberships are.
